How to Add Picture in Video Adobe Premiere Pro

Hey everyone, In today's Adobe Premiere article I want to show you how to add picture in video adobe premiere pro and bring it into your video and your timeline.

This article focused on the beginners who just started Adobe premiere pro

We'll start with a completely blank timeline so I could show you kind of the fundamentals of working with pictures and then we'll go to a video sequence that has video and audio.

Import the Image

• I'll show you how to kind of overlay an image on top of an existing video so with a blank sequence here,
• I need to first bring my image into this project.

I could double-click over here in the blank area of my project bin here. I could go ahead and find that image in this case I just had it on the desktop.

Adjust the image

I'll go ahead and press open and bring my photo right here. I have on this side onto my timeline.

I could go ahead and grab it and bring it onto one of the video tracks.

I usually give my images from Pixabay and I got this free one from Pixels for commercial work.

Here's a lot of times the problem with working with the image the image is far bigger than the video track.

I've created a 1080p video track here but you can see this image is actually being zoomed into a lot.

If I want this image in the actual size that it is well there is an easy option on top to the clip menu to video option and set to frame size right here.

It basically takes your image and sets it to frame size.

I could scale it down and adjust it accordingly

I could do left and right with this option if I wanted to.

You can also scale down the opacity of your image, and change the blending mode to a different option as your requirement.

so that's how you add an image to a sequence and scale it and move it left and right.

In case you didn't find Effect control you can bring the parameter from Windows then Effect control.

Now, u have to properly match the image layer by dragging it the same where the video layer ends.

So that the image is properly seen throughout the time as the video plays, otherwise, the image disappears.

Reverse Method

You can do the same thing as reverse method, like you can put the image layer down and place the video layer above.

Adjust same with the video layer as did with image layers like scale, position opacity.

Default duration of an Image

You have some options in the preferences on PCs under the Edit menu and go to preferences and there's the option here called timeline.

There's an option called still image default duration by default is 5 seconds so if you don't want it to be 5 seconds if you want to be 3 seconds for example you could do that.

Whatever number you want you could also set up by frames and not by seconds and whatever you set this to and press ok.

Then next time you launch premier that's going to be your default duration for an image that you put on a timeline and that's the gist of working with how to add picture in video adobe premiere pro.
